RJReynolds did that with the quilt fabrics copied from original quilts in the Smithsonian. My 1835 daygown of *huge* cabbage roses has "The Smithsonian Collection, The Grooms Quilt" label sewn inside the bodice. G Street Fabrics gave out a tag to customers who purchase at least a certain amt of yardage. I had another dress, American Civil War era, with a different Smithsonian/RJR collection label, but it long ago was given away or sold. It's pity RJR & the Smithsonian stopped collaborating on those. It was a great way to find historical prints for day dresses. --cin Cynthia Barnes [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
