How long is your hair? Mine is just shy of shoulder length, so my bun is tiny. I usually do a french twist instead and hold in place with plastic hair pins--look like a 3" long "U". I get them from the Vermont Country Store catalog. Then spray with hair spray to keep flyaway bits stuck down.
