A good dry cleaner should be able to get the smell out of the wool and silk. I had a wool military beret borrowed by a smoker friend (who has since quit - yay!!) When I got it back it reeked of smoke. I took it to the cleaners and when it came back - no smell! BTW, this was a cleaner that used the CO2 process - so the understructure was not affected, and there was no chemical smell, either.
