Thanks -- I had posted an online unidentified image and asked for help identifying it (which a bunch of people were able to do instantly!). I did not know at the time it was Bronzino's, or I wouldn't have needed the clue! I also asked where I might find a published version in a book, for purposes of making a (conventional) slide for a lecture. I think I'm covered in this case, as I've found another image that will serve as an example of my point even if the Bronzino doesn't turn up in published form. It occurs to me that it might be useful at this point to repost these two links: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/index.html http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.culture.studies.history.costume/ Not terribly useful for conventional archive searching, but very useful if you miss some posts and want to go back and see the recent discussion. I use these sites a lot because I tend to delete threads that don't appear to be in my area of interest ... and then sometimes I'll catch a post later that makes me want to read the previous messages for context. --Robin _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
