Queen Victoria had a Restoration costume done for a Fancy Dress ball c1850. It was on display at the Museum of London recently. You could tell everyone you were a Victorian doing 17th c styles. <grin> The above writer is correct, a lace collar or bertha would be the big visual clue, as would a wig of bouncy "spaniel" curls.
