I don't know what level are you looking for, but an excellent and very
practical book is "All about ..." (cotton/wool/linen/silk). It includes none of
such technical info no one understands (weaving details) but it tells you what
you can expect from the fabric: what style of clothing to choose, how does the
thing behave when sewing, drape, cleaning suggestions... it says everything one
would want to know about a fabric. And, it includes SWATCHES!
There are always two A4 pages for one kind of fabric (ex. cotton batiste).
This is, however, not for professionals that need technical info about
manufacturing etc. It is for sewers and designers.
