We used to say "Charlie's dead" when I was at school in the late 50s-60s, but I've not heard the phrase mentioned since. My comment on the recent "Tudors" TV series was that the women show too much hair and not enough linen. None of the leading ladies looks as though she is wearing a smock under her gown.
