I don't have any suggestion on the Toyota. I would suggest looking at this site for machine reviews. http://sewing.patternreview.com/ However, if the machine she has right now is not working well for her, I would highly recommend that she look at upgrading her regular machine now, and get a simple serger at a later point. Sergers are nice for what they do, but they do not replace a good sewing machine. That is where I would invest some money, even for a good quality used machine.
