Thanks so much for the information...I would never believe there was such a
complicated story beyond this picture...
This is what I feared - that it was not a realistic dress. Sigh. Such a
wonderful one... (are there any others of this kind - I mean - heraldic?)
Even though this particular dress is rather unreal, there are other mi-parti
dresses pictured in manuscripts, and many of them have to obvious fastening.
What do you think, in general, how mi-parti dresses were fastened, if not by
buttons? This is a question i often think about...and haven't found any answers
yet.
