Well, this is a first for me... I washed some brand new "natural" colored cotton coutil, and burgundy spots popped up all over it. Looks like some dye powder got on it before it was shipped to me, and now I'm stuck wondering: does dye remover weaken cotton? I've got a bunch of the stuff sold by Dharma Trading, and for any other purpose I wouldn't hesitate to use it on cotton, but the whole point of coutil is that it should be as strong as possible. I was planning to dye this fabric anyway, so I don't mind if it changes colors on me...
