Help! I have a favorite jacket I'm trying to save. The fabric is a plain weave silky fabric. The seam was just sewn with a straight stitch with no seam allowance treatment. The stitches are just pulling through the seam allowance making fringe. It's on a 2 piece sleeve near the elbow.
What are my options to save this? It's pulled right to the seamline in several places. I'm guessing I'll need to use a zig zag stitch but that's about as far as I've gotten.
