For some time now, I have been repairing wearable textiles which have been damaged by moth or bleach using a variety of embroidery to make the damage decorative. I am aware that some of the "hippy" style used this same technique and that there was an elaborate mending process in the 19th century that was especially used for linen. Question: are?there any historical ?references to this method in other times? Kathleen?
