Amazon Drygoods sells 3/8" plastic coated steel for hoops. Much better than
the stuff in buckram/cloth, because it is much easier to get out/put in for
washing.
And if you do as I have and just wash in the tub with boning in, the glue
dissolves and the steel is loose.Plus it rusts. That doesn't happen with
plastic coated steel.

Subject: [h-cost] questions

Is there a difference between a farthingale and hoops? I need
hoops/something under my skirts.

1. I'm told that the bridal hoops sold are made of synthetic material and
so will be miserable at a warm fair. Is this so? Or are there hoops
available made of cotton or linen?

2. If I have to make my own hoops, where do you recommend I buy the hoop
material?

3. Who do you like for steel boning for corsets & bodices?

Thanks
Julie in Ramona
