Like Rebecca, I, too, am happy that for once I have something in
progress I can talk about.
My dummy (I'm ever-hoping that a flash of inspiration will bring her
an appropriate/creative/amusing name--but alas, she remains headless
and anonymous) is presently naked--but was wearing and will soon wear
again--a reproduction of Princess Tiana's Petal Dress (from Disney's
"The Princess and the Frog"). Most of what I build are character
costumes for our local ballet company, and this dress was worn for
their annual Princess Party fund raiser, two weeks ago. Yes, it was
worn in not-quite-finished condition, so it's back at my house for
finalization--since it'll be needed again next year. I figured I
better try to finish it now, rather than waiting till next year,
because there will be ANOTHER new Disney Princess by that
time. "Rapunzel" opens in November. As someone else mentioned,
sewing time this winter has been seriously hampered by Snowmageddon
and by the fact that I still haven't given up my (library) Day Job.
I do, however, have the Most Amazing wind-constructed Frozen
Installation Art on my back patio, complete with actual snow waves
big enough to surf on!

It's spring (where I live). You might be making something for the end
of the theater season, a party, a wedding, a con or a re-enactment.
Whatever the reason, costumers are probably making something. So,
what's your dressmaker's dummy wearing today?

PS. It's ok to run into the sewing room, toss something spiffy on
the dummy and
*then* tell us about it. You could tell us about what's on your
worktable, hat block or in the box that you keep your current project
in.
