You will love this 'catalogue" I have both the English and Norwegian version
(Dronning Maud).? The latter has a few additional pieces and I am assuming more
history re Maud as Queen. The beading project is progressing nicely:? I am
about to attempt the back panels. My plan is to draw the scroll patterns on
tulle and attach this with the beading.? This technique was on the train of a
court gown (I once owned)? I did the front freehanded but the working space was
narrower.
The first gown I did after her nether garments was the wedding gown which has
leaves and waxed blossoms at the hem and neckline. I dipped tiny cloth flowers
in tallowand found some baby bay garland. The flowere for the veil are antique;
also the honiton lace. (Maud is said to have worn her mothers finger-tip veil.
I worked the interp of the Second Day in gold lace and tulle with gold roses
last spring and found time to do her Pink and white going-away suit this fass,
including a hat.? The beading on this piece was a bit tedious but having
antique stash of beads to work with was satisfying.
My "Model"is a Kestner repro of the Gibson Girl, 18".

Her figure was the result of early corseting, common in her era
especially among the upper classes.
I'm glad you posted the link. The clothing was lovely, of course, and
it also inspired me to check Abe books, where I found a $35 copy of
the book with free shipping! All I have to do now is wait. . . foot
tapping. . . twitch!!
