Sent to you by Heather via Google Reader: Special Event Notice: CSA
Western Region Fashion at the Getty via Fashion Historia by Heather on
6/29/11

As the current Programs Chair for the Western Region of the Costume
Society of America, I’m pleased to be able to bring members (and
guests) this truely unique opportunity for private tours of two fashion
exhibitions at the Getty. Organized by CSA member, friend and
all-around dynamo Kimberly Chrisman-Campbell it’s going to be a wopper
of a good time. Tickets are limited (and going fast) so register early
to avoid being put on the waiting list:

The program includes insider curator-led tours of two fashion related
exhibitions at the J. Paul Getty Museum, followed by a gourmet picnic
lunch and continued conversation with the curators.

Paris: Life & Luxury examines the everyday activities of a Rococo
Parisian town house, including dressing.

Fashion in the Middle Ages, explores the figures depicted in
illuminated pages of medieval manuscripts, which could be recognized at
a glance by the clothing they wore.

Participation is limited to 40 participants and I’d suspect that it
will fill up fast. It’s open to Costume Society of America Members and
non-Members alike, so register soon (deadline July 25)!
