Thomas, You could almost use "Fast enough for a server, simple enough for an embedded..." for H2's motto. A lot of people seem to be moving toward using it that way, anyway, based on questions being asked.
Once some of the optimizations and advanced features in the Roadmap get implemented, it'll smoke MySQL in the few areas it doesn't already.
