What I didn't understand wrt to the memory db was that I had to have a ':' at the end even though I see that the documentation is very consistent in having it there while I thought it was only needed to separate the mem part from the name of the database. It is easy to get a bit lost on the url syntax so maybe just stressing that you have to use mem: to get memory-only mode - not just mem.
