Right. That was the crux of my question.

It is faster no matter if the other caches are turned off or on. If
you don't believe it try yourself.
Well ... currently I am developing on derby.
I am centralising all databases under a single derby database.
But when I am done I have plans to do some development of the database.
And it seems to me that H2 codebase might be cleaner and easier to get a
handle on
because it was developed by a single mind whereas derby has been
developed by
a variety of teams.
Or what do you think?
But if/when I try to migrate to H2 I will definately try the power-off
tests.
