Hi Thomas,
I was wondering if H2 could support spatial index in a near future.
I know about other projects as hatbox that implement a spatial index using H2 but I didnt get deep inside it enough. I m so interested because I developed JASPA, that is a spatial dagtabase using at this moment PostgreSQL and H2. It can compare to PostGIS because it has a lot of spatial functionality (you can check it out in http://jaspa.forge.osor.eu/)

But without spatial index in H2 it is not worth it. Now im developing geometry topology rules and unfortunately I just can
do it in PostgreSQL because this functionality really needs spatial indexes.

I think this project could be important with H2 to manage cartography and maps and not just using PostgreSQL.
Can I have some hope about H2 spatial indexes in a new future?
Could you give me your opinion about all this stuff.

Thanks a lot,
Regards,
Jose
