I would also use month numbers instead of month names. What about two methods
int getMonthId(String name) {
// map month name / months names to number ...
// also adds to MONTHS table if entry was not found
}
String getMonthName(int id) {
// map month id to name(s)
}
The 'month id' would be the sort order. If that's not possible, you
could use a separate "order sequence" id.
