no If it is only me that had the problem then I don't think you have to worry, because then it must be my tinkering or upgrading every 6 months rather than re-installing. I checked now on another of my machines and the local host name is present on ::1, 127.0.1.1 and 10.0.0.3 so it seems that networkmanager will normally configure this correctly.
