Hi, You are right, there is a bug in the H2 Console where an empty column is replaced with a single, non-breaking space. I have now fixed this problem in revision 4231.
Please note this is a bug in the H2 Console tool only, not a bug in the database engine itself. Thanks a lot for reporting this problem!
