Sorry to revisit an old post, but I wondered if the comment that Thomas 
made below is still valid?

I need to write a small wxWidgets application, but have become very fond of 
H2 in the past couple of years and would like to use it as the datastore.

I know that only server mode is available but that is fine because H2 is so 
easy to run as a server!
