Yeah, I can confirm that is definitely the case.
Sorry, but I can't really help you any further.
I think you're bumping into the limitations of H2's query optimiser, and
I doubt anything short of a major upgrade would help there.
Thomas might be able to help. (he's the primary author of H2)
