We are using H2 database with c3po connection pooling.
We use H2 for read only purpose, when I have profiled my java application
using Visual VM I have noticed lot of time was spent on checkinStatement
and checkoutStatement method (note they are Synchronized method)

Every time we query, we close the prepare statement and create it again for
the next query, it is bit late for us to try caching of the prepared
statement etc (I think connection pool supports statement caching)

We heard BoneCP is the fastest connection pool.

I wonder is there any better way to deal with this problem?

All we need is fastest way to query H2 in a multi threaded environment, all
our queries are SELECT.
We are dealing with Big data, 100's of millions reference data.

Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Shiva
