LOG=2  as in

jdbc:h2:file:/database;USER=
sa;PASSWORD=;AUTO_SERVER=TRUE;LOG=2;IFEXISTS=TRUE

We were able to recover db as you mentioned. (not certain if any data were 
lost)
the database is about several MBs, very smal, was created fresh with the 
same jar h2 1.3.170 (2012-11-30)
It was run as embedded mode with single thread for db work and there are 
times system were powered off and on a few times a day.

This is the first time we saw this error. hard to reproduce. no temporary 
tables used.
We are upgrading h2 to the lastest and will send whole info if it ever 
occurred again.
