Hello all, Since 1.4.193 the 1.4 branch has reached release status. We have systems that have been running om 1.3.176 for a long time now and I would like to discuss upgrading to the newest release (1.4.195).
I have done some testing and have noticed quite dramatic performance improvements when accessing existing databases with the new release version. We have large amounts of databases created with 1.3.176 that we will be accessing with 1.4.195. Are there backward compatibility issues we need to take into account? Can we just use the same connection strings or do we need to take special measures? After careful testing we have adopted the MVCC mode using 1.3.176. That was marked as experimental but for our usage scenarios it worked quite reliably. Can we simply keep using that mode with 1.4.195, even if the databases are PageStore ones and have been created using 1.3.176? In short I would just like to know if there are known risks involved in upgrading H2 while keeping existing databases in place. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on the subject.
