In order to diagnose such an issue you need to strip the query down to a 
reasonable small sized example. To get an idea what you can do:
1) decopose the union parts of the query and check for differences
2) analyze the AND claues in the where condition to see which part possibly 
causes the differnce 
Developers need a very comprehensive standalone testcase in order to 
further diagnose a possible issue.
