Thanks for your comments. I really appreciate having some feedback from 
non-Sun employees.

Option 1 is indeed what we implemented. I actually don't see much value 
in option 2 because the user would still have to take the manual step of 
configuring networking manually. So there's not much gained by just 
disabling nwam.
