Hi everyone, in the spirit of the "Converted services: manifests and methods" page initiated by the Service Management Facility community (http://opensolaris.org/os/community/smf/manifests/) I am happy to announce that we will host a third party HA agents repository on our portal for Open HA Cluster:
http://opensolaris.org/os/community/ha-clusters/ohac/3rd-party-agents/ You will note that currently it contains just a dummy entry, it serves as an example how the repository can look like. So this is also a call to action - if you have developed a data service - either for the Sun Cluster product or on top of Solaris Cluster Express - and you would like to share your work which is already published on your website - please let us know about it, and we add a link to the repository. The "process" is really easy, just have a look at the page, provide the necessary information and send a message to ha-clusters-discuss at opensolaris.org. We will pick the information up and add it to the repository. If you think we should list out other informations about the agent as well, just let us know. That way we hope to create a place to gather knowledge about already existing agents out there, so that others can leverage the work. Note that the agents listed in the repository will be hosted by third parties servers and there is no guarantee about quality or functionality, so use with care and at your own risk. You need to also check if the individual license is acceptable for you. Of course we encourage any author of such an agent to consider contributing the agent code with a copyright and (OSI-approved) license, or proposing a project within the HA Clusters community.
