Where applications are installed is largely irrelevant. Do you actually 
want to remove nodes from a cluster or prevent them from running the 
application? If it is the latter, it could be as simple as removing a 
node from a resource group node list. This is why I'm asking about 
resource groups.

If you aren't using resource groups, then you may not be taking full 
advantage of SC.
