Thorsten, who is going to be OOTO for a while, has replied off-list that the 
node to be removed should be shut down. Unfortunately, for the scenario I am 
working on, it is advantageous if the node to be removed (and re-added 
immediately after that) can be booted in non-cluster mode as this reduces the 
amount of manual intervention necessary.

I'll see how I get ahead, might be that I will want to work on the code to 
improve the behavior for this case at a later time.
