I think it will be very useful, especially for plugins (there are at least 3 
places according to the wiki for where to get plugins which I always have to 
remember which one to go that is most currently updated). And as long as there 
is an easy way for normal folk (me!) to submit our themes/plugins and any 
future updates for them. 

I also think a way of viewing demos of the themes will also be something 
expected of visitors.
