If your theme contains a template named maintenance.php, this will be
used instead of the default output the maintenance mode plugin
creates. You can design the template to look any way you want. It may
be easiest to make a copy of your theme's 404.php, rename it to
maintenance.php, then change the content in the body of the page to
the message you would like people to see. Also, the plugin was just
updated to make the maintenance text you set in the plugin's options
available to your theme. You may find it helpful to update to the
newest version, read the readme file, then create your maintenance.php
template.
