I thought there was a plugin for that in -extras, but i've not been
able to find it. There is a plugin, autoclose, that automatically
closes a post off to comments after a set number of days that may
help. Until such a plugin exists, you may find that most spam goes to
just a few posts. You could close commenting only on those posts.
