As you rightly pointed out, this is indeed due to the taxonomy changes.

Instead of using:

<?php if( in_array('Asides', $post->tags ) ): ?>

... you need to use the more intuitive ...

<?php if ( $post->tags->has('Asides') ): ?>

I'm in the process of walking through these changes and plan to
document the changes once I fully understand them, assuming someone
else doesn't beat me to it :-)
