Yeah I noticed that as well, it was basically the markup plugin that was causing the problems (I only resolved it yesterday evening, so yeah was going to post back on here about the resolution). If anyone's getting <p>s in their titles of their RSS feed, disable the markup plugin there is some tom foolery going on there.
