I've been assembling an updated video to go on the habariproject.org
home page that shows some of the fundamental things that are different
about Habari from other blog software out there.

The video is 1 minute, 20 seconds long, and uses the script you can
find here (some bits are yet subject to change due to some time
constraints):

There is a section that starts "Behind the software stands a
constantly growing worldwide community" that I want to create a photo
montage for. I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to accomplish this
just yet, because I'm no video effect expert, but my basic idea
involves a lot of photos/screenshots of people and their websites
flying around the screen.

WHAT I NEED FROM YOU:

It would be great to have actual Habari users' photos and website
designs flying around in our intro video. If you want to be involved,
I'd ask that you submit a photo of yourself and/or your website(s).

If you submit something, try to supply a photo with one dimension
(height, width) of at least 640 pixels, and no dimension more than
1024 pixels. If you take a screenshot of your site (yes, please do),
please omit the browser chrome (the part of the window that is the
browser and not your website) if possible. If you supply a screenshot
of your site that includes the browser, I will likely crop off the
scrollbar, bookmark bar, address bar, status bar, etc. But it would
make my life easier if I could just drop your shot in, rather than do
a lot of editing.

The disclaimer is that if you do send something, you should be able to
give permission to use the photo, and have granted it to me to be used
in the video. If the photo is used in the video it will be very, very
hard to remove it after the fact, so bear in mind that sending a photo
grants us permission to use it in the intro video as described.

I'm not going to put any names or websites as text in the video. We
could potentially set up a wiki page to list the photos used (if you
wanted to do that), but there won't be any credit links from the video
page itself. In other words, if you're doing this only to boost your
Google juice or make a dollar, you're doing it wrong.

I'd really like to get this done as soon as I can, so the faster you
can get your photos in, the better. To hasten the process, I'm going
to set a hard deadline of this Saturday, midnight EST, for all
submissions. It's possible I'd accept more after that, but I make no
guarantees.

In case you're interested in what I've produced so far, here's a link,
but keep in mind that this was an early revision, and only the first
20 seconds or so, and I might yet switch fully over to After Effects
to produce this thing, if Camtasia keeps being painful:

Thanks in advance for your help. Hope to see you all in the video.

Owen
