Neil and all,

also sorry about the long post last night ... I believe we can be working on
parallel tracks so that the hosting & domain support can be ready concurrent
with the services you are building ...

I propose this for hosting ...

-hook me up with the person who made the hosting offer
-we will start looking for a major hosting company who will give us volume
discounts (secure facilities and guaranteed uptime)

-we will come back with a couple package deals for group approval
-discount package we can 'sell' to the nodes
-financial relationship remains between the host and the individual
nodes
        -24/7 support from the host
-guarantees that the nodes using this host meet the technical specs
for what you are building
-in return for selling the hosts services, we will negotiate to get
you the server space and bandwidth you need for free, and a dedicated server
with backup for the overall system to help ensure security and reliability
... (this is a pretty standard deal and we may be able to negotiate more)
-we will check on host ownership's party affiliation ...

-we will start polling current Dean sites for stats to develop volume
guidelines

We will need two things from the dev team to get started
        -server specs
-rough estimate of storage space needed per node

issue I know we will have to deal with, but I have not seen much chatter
about it. In my reply to the list I did my best to summarize the situation,
I'm sure others will reply. From what I have seen there are a few people
such as yourself who have bought domains which are not being used. So in my
mind we are good for domains, but lacking in knowing about places to serve
our content at reasonable prices. Hopefully this will clear up as Zack is
visiting the offical Dean for America campaign.
