Consider asking ubase. shred(1) is useless on must setups, but I have my filesystem set up to make shred useful. I use shred, so I though it could be nice to have in ubase. But since it is not generally a useful tool perhaps it should not be in ubase. But how about adding a complementary repository to ubase and sbase with the standard tools that are not too commonly used, such as shred, factor, rev and shuf, that way we could keep sbase and ubase minimal but still provide all standard tools. > before spending time to implement a tool in case it is > not desired to go in. I've mentioned this before. It's fun and educational even if it is not going to be merged. And as long as it does not take more than a few hours, its not too much time wasted. > > If anyone needs it, we can make a patches section on the > wiki. > > I am still reviewing diff and patch by the way, we need > those and hope to get them in soonish. patch's correctness can be tested with https://github.com/maandree/base-util-tests/tree/master/patch-test >
