I just commented out the ENABLE_ECLIPSE_SENSOR and ENABLE_ECLIPSE_SENSOR_MONITOR lines in 
sensor.properties, and Eclipse now exits normally.

This indicates to me that
(a) the problem is indeed the Eclipse sensor,
(b) the problem is not with the Jupiter sensor
If you have updated to the recent release of the Eclipse sensor and are now experiencing 
the 'hang on exit' problem first reported by Cedric, you can workaround this for now by 
just disabling the sensor in sensor.properties.
