Greetings,
Cam Moore will be coming to CSDL for a noon brown bag discussion on his design of a sensor for NetBeans this Friday, April 8. Interestingly, his "NetBeans" sensor is more precisely a new task to Ant, since the recent release of NetBeans uses Ant internally for much of its compilation/building procedures. Cam's idea is to provide a new task for Ant that allows the embedding of Activity events inside of Ant tasks. (Thus, in your compile target prior to running javac, you could potentially run a task that emits a 'statechange' event for changed .java files, for example.)
There are some interesting design issues here to talk about. Please join us if you're interested and available, or send email if there are issues you'd like to see discussed.
Cheers, Philip
