Thank you for that information. I edited the bat file so that it runs
the latest Jira server.

Everything seems to be working now. Hopefully the 3.1.1 version
corrected the startup errors we experienced earlier. I was browsing the
forums and it appears that the older Jira server gave other
organizations similar problems.
