Hi Lorin,
We've done some investigation and have decided to modify our installer GUI tests to check
for a headless environment:
<http://hackydev.ics.hawaii.edu:8080/browse/HACK-341>
You can 'watch' that issue to be notified when it is resolved. Julie and Austen should be
on it.
Cheers,
Philip

Two issues here:
Lorin: I think you've already done this, but just to confirm---you are set up
for a
"headless" environment following the instructions in Section 3.4.4:
<http://hackydev.ics.hawaii.edu/hackyDevSite/hackyBuild/README.3.html>
In other words, java.awt.headless=true in both hackystat.properties and in
CATALINA_OPTS?
Yup, set in both places:
$ echo $CATALINA_OPTS
-Djava.awt.headless=true -Xmx200M
$ grep headless hackystat.properties
java.awt.headless=true
