Here's an interesting facility: built-in support for distributed peer
programming.

Given an appropriate sensor for JBuilder, this would allow all sorts of interesting empirical studies:

(1) compare productivity/quality metrics obtained from building code with vs. without peer programming;
(2) determine how often groups who say they peer program actually do peer
program;
(3) determine how often peer programming actually impacts on the code (i.e. how often does the person not 'driving' actually make a significant change, or do they just sleep in the background);
(4) develop a taxonomy of 'micro-processes' for peer programming.

Cheers,
Philip
