I think Aaron is correct. Subversion requires a very different way of thinking about modules and repositories (see Tim Shadel's excellent comments on this in a post to this list last week.)

We don't want to mangle Subversion's natural way of doing things for the sake of Hackystat; we need to figure out a way to accomodate nested workspaces which I think arises naturally from Subversion.

Tim: you might have insights on this, since you have more experience with Subversion than anyone in CSDL.
