Greetings,
We are pleased to announce a new stable release of Hackystat.
Version 6.8.1014 includes the following major enhancements:
* Improvements to HackyInstaller, including proxy support and usermaps editing.
* Initial release of the hackyExperiment package to support empirical
experimentation.
* Sensor support for Eclipse 3.1
* CLI sensor support for Bash

Finally, we are also delighted to announce that 6.8.1014 is the last stable release in
the Version 6.x stream. Hackystat has grown from approximately 40,000 LOC in Version 6.0
to over 110,000 LOC in 6.8, and the current architecture is showing its age. We have
decided to drag Hackystat back into the garage for the next couple of months to do a
major structural overhaul, including a redesign of its module structure, build system,
documentation system, configuration management system, and more. Release 7.0 of Hackystat
will implement major architectural and design improvements that will significantly
improve the system's ability to grow further, faster, and better support the needs of
different user communities. We will provide bug fixes as part of a 6.9 development
stream, but significant enhancements will be deferred until 7.1.
Cheers,
Philip
