Greetings, all, I've finished Chapter 1 of the Administrator guide (which includes everything in the current administrator guide). In going through it, I found lots of minor errors that I corrected in the docbook version. I also resolved some problems that Cam and I found while installing a source distribution from scratch, which actually required me to alter the build system slightly.
Because the currently publicized documentation is now out of sync with the implementation, I'd like to push out a 7.1 stable release as quickly as possible. I'd like to propose the following steps: (1) Currently, the daily build system creates the docbook using the old version. I want to do one last sanity check this afternoon, then cut-over to using the new documentation system as the default way to build documentation. I expect to do that this afternoon. (2) The HackyDevSite home page references the public server's help page for the user guide, and its own internal HTML pages for the Administrator guide and developer guides. What would be better would be for the build of hackydevsite to include a copy of the build/war/docbook directory associated with the hackystat-ALL configuration to someplace in its webapp directory. That way, I can replace the current links on the hackyDevSite home page for the User, Administrator, and Developer guides to the new documentation framework, and it will be updated daily. Cedric, can I volunteer you to do this after I have finished with (1)? I will ping you when (1) is done. (3) The hackystat server help page currently maintains links to just the User Guide. I will update that page so that it contains links to its own version of its User, Administrator, and Developer guides. (4) All the usual stable release stuff: history, Jira, etc. Please take a look at your currently assigned Jira issues for 7.1, and close any that you've completed. Note that I am not expecting that we resolve all of the currently open 7.1 issues before making the release---I will simply push any remaining 7.1 open issues to 7.2. I'd definitely like to get this release out by Friday, which seems quite doable. Let me know if you foresee any issues with this. Cheers, Philip
