Vivek, I think it would be useful to open a new issue with the thoughts you put
as comment on this issue (and maybe the other related issues could also be
clubbed into this one issue; there are 2-3 related issues). I think this
particular issue is going to be closed with the quick fix that Arun is going to
submit and hence no point discussing new ideas on this page.
